Sogakope

We're just about to leave for Sogakope in the Volta Region. We will be working with a local youth organization called Youth Creating Change of Ghana. Their director, named John, has organized all the villages we will be going to for water filter training and installation as well as other health and sanitation education. John was just in a car accident and is recovering from head injuries. Please pray for him.

If you would like to phone us, we'd be happy to hear from you. Here is the number for calling from US or Canada:

Good Morning! Well morning for us here in sunny California!
I just got your Dad's forwarded email to friends and family here, and tried calling the number here with no luck. Will try again soon.

So very happy to hear that things are going so well (even on the way there)! Bless you for giving your hearts, souls, body and minds to this great project.

xo love from Aunti Char

My husband works for International Aid and they have a presence in Accra Ghana and have been working with Lamisi Mbillah, former Miss Ghana and working with the Guinea Worm Erradication Programme. International Aid has been licensed by the biosand water filter inventor, David Manz, to produce and distribute the plastic version HydrAid Filter. www.hydraid.com My husband would be very interested to discuss with you the opportunity to install some HydrAid filters with bagged sand. They are already in country and should be easy for you to obtain. The science on these was just completed and the results were better than the cement version reducing diarhea by over 60%. you can reach Jim at bodennerj@hydraid.org and you can go their website www.hydraid.org
He will be in Ghana in April.
